I got in another run on the treadmill (yay!) but was worried the whole time. Ryan is unpredictable with naps ... he goes anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours! If it happens to be the situation in which he goes thirty minutes I'd be forced to run and grab him, basically right off the treadmill. I would then spend the rest of the day feeling (and smelling) like death. It happened yesterday since he woke up only a mile into my run, and I certainly didnt want it to happen twice. Today I was cautious. I figured I would do about 2 miles, but then saw I was just short of 25 minutes so I gave it a shot. Luckily, he slept for 50 minutes, so I got the short run in and a shower. A pretty perfect day.
I ended up running 2.19 miles, pacing at 11:25. As I took a two week hiatus after my one week back (after my 9 or so months off!) I'm not looking to pack on the miles quickly. Today's run was not horrible for me, but I definitely still need to work up to more miles and faster pacing.
This is supposed to be week FOUR of an eight week training program. I ran for one of the first three weeks :( The good thing is, I chose the "novice" program which essentially assumes you have never run before. The bad thing is, week four includes a 2 mile run, a 2.5 mile run and a 3.5 mile run. I'm not sure I'm totally ready to add another mile-and-a-half on yet, but should be able to pull off a three mile run at some point this week. I'll compensate for my slacking next week.
