So a law just passed that allows people to take guns with them to work in Florida. And today the Illinois House of Representatives voted down a law that would have prevented residents from purchasing more than one gun per month.
Now it seems all we hear about is gun violence, tragic gun deaths, and school shootings. Yet it appears that legislation is not changing to reflect any acknowledgement of this. I never really think much about gun laws, to be honest. But hearing today that IL denied legislation to limit gun purchases to one per month got me a bit confused. In what situation would anyone need to purchase more than one gun per month? Maybe as a non-gun owner, non hunter, whatever, I just dont see the need that other may have?
There is a pretty interesting website hosted by The Illinois Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (ICPGV), that talks about this one-gun-per-month legislation, in addition to providing a lot of other Illinois related gun facts. Obviously this is just one side of the story, but looks to me like its a story worth getting more familiar with.

Great. Now I'm uber-excited to be at work, here in FL.
Just bring your own gun and you will be fine! You can buy as many as you want here in IL :)
