Wierdest Dog Accessory EVER?

I get this catalog from In The Company of Dogs, because I ordered some Holiday presents for some dogs in the family. It has tons of the normal pet stuff ... leashes, collars, pet beds, etc. But today I am looking through the catalog and find this.
Quite the item, this Doggie Bag is actually trademarked by In The Company of Dogs. Here is the product description:
"Keep the hair on the dog...not in your car!" This jacket protects car interiors against the sand, mud, dander, dirt and debris of dogs on board. Lightweight yet extremely durable nylon cover-up is water-resistant, loose-fitting for comfort and mobility and easy to get on and off. Reinforced vinyl footpads eliminate tears and scratches. Strong nylon handles make it easy to help your pet into the car, van or SUV. Features a heavy-duty zipper and Velcro adjustments. Because it fully covers your dog from neck to tail, the vehicle's interior temperature should be no higher than 74 degrees. Use only for short rides, such as a quick trip home after a romp in the great outdoors. Machine washable. For the perfect fit, measure your dog from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the front paw. For extra-wide dogs, order next larger size. Color: Blue. Sizes (Height): XXS (14"-17"), XS (18"-20"), S (21"-23"), M (24"-26"), L (27"-29"), XL (30"-32"), XXL (33"-36").
Is this the freakiest thing you have ever seen, or it is just me?

Completely freaky - but I bet it was a group of golden owners who created it. Being an owner of a delightful Golden - I would do about anything to contain the constant fur.

I admit, my dog is hairy. My inlaws have a golden ... she is definitely hairy. But I think whoever invented this is one of those people that keeps their dog in the garage or in some yard and never lets it in the house. Then occasionally they have to bring it to the vet (or somewhere similar) and they dont want it to "dirty" anything. I want to see a real, live animal in this getup. I agree with Jess...gnaw out or die trying :)
