In actuality, THIS was the race course. You might be able to see the resemblance. Race Report

Started off the morning hanging out with Patti, my sister, Jean, and 40,000 of our closest running buddies, waiting to start the 2010 Shamrock Shuffle. It took 33 minutes to cross the start line, and our first mile was about 12:00. Sure, we could have tried to haul through the crowd weaving and zig-zagging, but is it worth it?
Despite the fact that we were no where near the last to finish, they were out of bananas. They were also out of some sort of Nabisco 100 Calorie packs. All they had were potato chips. Of course, I got all steamed up that the race organizers felt it was appropriate to give runners potato chips as a post-race snack. Then I ate a whole bag. We froze our butts off on the way to the car and packed it up to head home.
It wasnt my fastest race, but I can sure tell you it was a heck of a lot better than my most recent one (Miami) :) And, most importantly, I beat my sister by a second (or a bit less, but that still counts).

Looks a little better out there than last year for sure! Nice job! And congrats on beating your sister :)
Wow...that is a crazy map! Sounds like you had a great time! I would be a little miffed as well regarding the food at the end of the race. I have recently discovered potato chips at the end of races too...not my preference.
I didn't know you were going to be there! Erin and I were volunteering at bag check. 33 minutes to cross the start line?! JEEZ!
I'm happy you had fun :)
kilax - thats so funny. I actually went with my friend to bag check too, on the way in and out of the race :) I totally could have spotted you had I known, it wasnt crowded at all when I was there!
Wow...that is a HUGE race! I have never done one with more than a few hundred runners and can't even imagine that. Sounds like such fun!
