Running Is Hard

I had my abs class today. It was challenging. Each week we up the level of difficulty, reps, etc. This week (week 3) has been a struggle for me. While I can already see improvements, I can also see a lot of weaknesses :)

I had to get out for a run today - my timing has been difficult this week, but today I had the free time. I have been very stressed and very tired, and really wasnt in the mood for a run, but sucked it up and went anyway.

Training Log
Time:27:53   Distance:2.55 mi   Pace:10:57
I did another 2.5 today, still not mentally ready for the 3. Thank goodness I didnt decide to up it because I never would have made it. I was tired! Its a combination of getting up at 4 (thanks Brooke!), my hectic schedule this week, and the fact that I did 50 minutes of abs earlier in the morning. The whole run I felt very lethargic. I got held up at a stoplight for a long time (I'd say about 1 1/2 minutes) and really thought about just walking home from there. Though I was tired I kept going, because todays run actually mentally felt pretty good. I needed to get out of the house, get some fresh air, and forget about all of the other stuff going on. And it worked. For 30 minutes I didn't have to sweat the small stuff, just had to worry about making it through a couple of miles. I generally dont get that sort of release from a run so today was exceptionally special ;)

Glad it felt so mentally good! For me, that's the true reward of running.

I love mentally rewarding runs... most of my runs are that way!
