Actor Heath Ledger dies at 28

I have mentioned in the past that I spend some (ok, most) of my free time reading celebrity gossip. Its a waste of time, I am aware, but quite addicting. There is so much going on every day in the celebrity gossip world ... but most of it is expected. Britney Spears acts crazy, someone new is pregnant, Tom Cruise acts crazy, someone new goes to rehab, etc. This one suprised me a bit - Heath Ledger was found dead today in his apartment.

Check out his profile on IMDb. He has quite a notable acting resume, with the most popularly known credit being Brokeback Mountain. He actually just wrapped up his role as The Joker in the newest Batman film - The Dark Knight, which did a lot of filming in Chicago. And, he was in the middle of filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (due out in 2009).

Ledger was a bit of a recluse, and avoided the "Hollywood scene". He follows a long list of actors who have met tragic endings, yet it still no less shocking and sad.
