The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle is a big race in Chicago. Its an 8K with 32,500 participants - and this year is the 30th year. That makes this already popular race even more popular. So popular, in fact, that registration opens on 1/1/08 and it will likely sell out fast.
I have not yet figured out my 2009 plan, especially my level of commitment (if any) to running. This is an early race (March 29) which means I need to do my training in the wonderful Chicago Winter. Its only an 8K, so the training level is not intense ... but I havent run in almost a year and just had a baby. Perhaps training for an 8K in 3 months will actually be more than I can handle? I just sent an email out to my running friends to see what they're thinking about this race. I hope that perhaps someone else can make the decision easier for me :)

let's see... toss a coin maybe? I say if you remember running as something that you enjoyed and made you feel good..then this is a good place to start!
