The Cure?
I have a tendency to reward myself with food ... and to console myself with food. Basically, whether I am up or down, food is often the answer. Recently I noted that this trend often includes ice cream...and the skipping of a run. I swear this is not conscious, I can't figure out why this correlation exists. But I just did it again. I decided today to skip my run. I am still a bit out-of-sorts, a bit sore, and have a small cold that is still hanging on. So what do I do? Heat up some cookies, put some vanilla ice-cream on top, and chomp away. Is this some sort of medical condition? obsessive-compulsive-run-skipping-ice-cream-eating-disorder? Well, I think I may have found the cure. I am going to hire Andy Samburg (Saturday Night Live) to follow me around. Check out this video:

mmm cookies are my total vice...for all good, bad and in between times of life.
I wouldn't be a role model - because you lost me on anything running when you started talking about cookies and ice cream. Did you read the Runners' World article about sometimes we just need to slow down and take a break and our bodies tell us if we listen? Yep, I think your body is telling you it's ok to skip that run.

Amanda - Yes, cookies make a great vice. Brownies also top my list!
Amy - I know my body is telling me not to run, and there is some logic to that. But why does it also tell me to eat ice-cream? Thats the real mystery ....
