Yesterday I was back to the long run (albeit a short "long" run) and my regular busy weekend schedule. We had dinner with Jeff's family in the suburbs, and Wrigley and Annie showed each other their Halloween costumes. Wrigley also decided to attack a puppy (totally cute pug named Gordon) because he got too close to her most prized possession ... a frisbee. All that excitement wore me out, and Wrigley too ... and we both dozed off a bit in the car on the way home. Today is your typical football Sunday, with a dissapointing Bears/Vikings outcome. Now its back to some school-work and some travel planning. Booking flights for Las Vegas today!
Saturday's Training Log
Time:  1:27:40 time  Distance:8 miles   Pace:  10:58 min/mi
Three of us from the new Vegas Crew met Saturday morning to get in 8 miles. Unlike the previous weekend in which the Chicago Marathon actually had to be cancelled due to excessive heat, this weekend was in the 40's early morning with highs in the low 60's (go figure). Did the first 4 miles WEARING GLOVES. Starting the regular training routine again this week ... not so sure how I feel about these upcoming long runs ;)

I do not envy you having to go backwards in your training...but then again it could make Vegas go that much smoother.
Ohhh! Vegas! Yay!
Who knows, maybe Chicago fiasco is a blessing in disguise, you'll have more training for the upcoming Las Vegas Marathon and a better chance to PR!!
Hope you can find a direct flight as connecting flights are a hassle and can be draining.
