Facts About the Iowa Caucuses

Thought this was a quick, easy, description of the Iowa caucuses. While most people seem have a general idea, it seems like the whole process can bit confusing. Check out the Facts About the Iowa Caucuses if you are curious about the events that will be taking place tomorrow.

You can also check out the official website here.

And if you are wondering "what's the point?" (like I was), check out Wikipedia (which of course, is never wrong). The site says that out of the last 9 caucuses (not including tomorrow's), the emerging Democratic leader won the party nomination 6 times. For Republicans, the leader won the party nomination 5 times. Note: many of the Republican leaders were unopposed as they were current presidents running for re-election. Clinton was also unopposed when he ran for re-election.

I just actually learned about how complicated the caucuses really are. Its pretty exciting, isn't it!? I love election season. Unfortunately my fun election season has been followed by weeks of mourning in 2000 and 2004. Lets hope things are changing!
