Viva Las Vegas!

On Sunday, December 2, I will be participating in the third annual Las Vegas Marathon! I registered last night (as did Patti and Beca) so its official. We are so excited to continue our journey - to have the opportunity to pursue this dream and now with the added benefit of a Vegas vacation :) I have walked The Strip many times (twice, in fact, this year alone) - but have never even attempted to run in "Sin City". December will actually be quite cool, and a city that can sometimes be unforgiving will welcome 15,000 marathoners (and 10,000 half-marathoners) with open arms. As I believe luck can only be on my side after my first marathon experience, I plan to spend a good amount of my "recovery" time at the tables ... counting on Lady Luck to reward me for my dedication and hard work!

Check out some highlights from the 2006 Las Vegas Marathon!

Current plans are to arrive on Saturday before the race, and go home on Tuesday. I invite all my friends and family to join me in Vegas! While Saturday night will be early (VERY EARLY - 6 AM MARATHON START TIME!!!) I can promise Sunday night will not be an early one. And we could still use all the support we can get on our 26.2 mile journey.

Danny, one of the city team mentors, is running Vegas as well. Let me know if you want his info. He's run it before I believe and would be a great resource for information about the race!!

Viva Las Vegas indeed! You'll get your 26.2 and think of all the ways you can "recover" in that town. I understand you get to run with Elvis - lots of them. :) And remember what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas so HAVE FUN.
