Yesterday, during a discussion about how I need to keep it day-to-day, I made a list to help keep me level-headed as the Marathon approaches. The idea was to take each day one-at-a-time, and that the list would help me focus on the days objectives alone. I think I should have made a list this morning, instead of thinking about it now...because I have spent 1/2 of my day ingesting candy and cookies. I tried to make up for it by eating an orange ... but then followed it with more candy. And while I prepared my salad I ate some more candy. So, today is nearing its end - but I did get something accomplished - a massage!
The massuse worked a bit on my legs, but spent most of the time on my neck and back. I have so many knots - and these knots do two things. First, on a daily basis they limit my range of motion. Second, (and more important recently!) they seem to be the source of my lower back pain when I am running long distances. My hope is that if some of the knots I just got worked out ... will STAY AWAY. Adding a bit more luck on my side for Sunday. (And I need all the luck I can get)
Tomorrow's List
Since my list for today appears to be a failure, I am going to make my list for tomorrow. I only have a few hours left of today and I think I can made it through as long as I stay away from the candy and avoid getting too wrapped up into my tv shows.
1. STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR
2. Go to the Expo, dont wear myself out, avoid getting injured
3. Pick up my fan-club president from the airport
4. Go out for pasta dinner, save leftovers for my "last meal" on Saturday
5. Work out some logistics: what time will I get up? what time will I leave? where will I look for people during the Marathon? am I going to bring stuff for gear-check? how do I find people after the race? Maybe tomorrow I should do an hourly schedule type thing...do I need to get that literal?
