Oh, The Horror!

I have been waiting many months for the return of some of my favorite shows. Despite the fact that I feel I never have a minute free, I am determined to make free time in order to watch some of my faves. Same as last year, The Office is on the same time as Grey's Anatomy. Thank goodness for TiVo. Since Jeff is not a Grey's fan, we watched The Office and TiVo'd Grey's. Problem: Grey's went over time. The last thing I saw was Izzy going to answer her door ... and I didnt get to see next weeks scenes. I stayed up late to watch it, and missed the best part ???????? I assume George was at the door, but I just dont know what happened. This stinks. So I am so desperate I had to go onto a Grey's Anatomy Forum...and I spliced together whats up :)

On A Better Note
Tomorrow I have a massage scheduled with our on-campus center. I know its really close to the Marathon and some people dont suggest doing anything unusual ... but I am having lots of issues with low back pain. It hurts a bit all the time (like a 2 or 3 on a 10 point scale) but has been becoming a large issue during long runs. I am hoping that maybe trying to work out some of the existing problems can hold off the pain during the Marathon, and am afraid if I start with a certain level of pain it won't take long to build. Maybe I am dumb? Thats why I scheduled one for tomorrow, 9 days before the Marathon. I am going to see what happens ... but if it seems to release some of the pain I was thinking of doing one shortly before the Marathon - like next Wednesday or Thursday. If anyone thinks this might not be a wise idea let me know!

Problem Solved
According to a recent article in the New York Times "distance cycling and distance running are for small people". Now they tell me. If I had just known this earlier in the season I could have avoided all of this and trained for something more appropriate for my body size :)

Training Log
Time:  51:41 time  Distance:5.00 miles   Pace:  10:20 min/mi
I knew I had to run today. Since I have been taking this "taper" a bit too far, it was time to get back out there. I went to the lakefront since its always a bit easier for me to motivate myself there. Unfortunatly several of the bridges for the path were out of order and I found myself doing some hill-work. I dont think that is really in order 10 days before the Marathon ... and my knees are feeling it a bit. Anyway, I put in 5 miles and feel much better mentally (guilt? gone!) but definitly am still at the tail-end of this cold. I am counting on getting rid of it completely in the next few days - which means I need to go to sleep right now and get some rest!
