Getting Ready For My Last Week

Tomorrow is Monday. My last Monday before the Marathon :) I am concerned about trying to do everything right this week. Eating right. Sleeping right. Running right. Most importantly I am concerned about not getting injured. Imagine tripping on a crack in the sidewalk and breaking my leg.

I keep trying to think, "tomorrow is just a normal Monday", "act normal". And I have moments where I do feel normal. Moments where I forget what lies ahead. But those moments quickly pass. Today I passed up cheesecake because I dont want to be consuming my normal pastry diet this week. (I can't believe I passed up a pastry. This is one of my proudest training moments) I have promised myself to avoid all of the unnecessary sweets that I am so drawn to. I am not changing my overall diet (thats not recommended), but instead cutting out some of the bad things I frequently consume that the experts suggest not to! Here are my objectives for this week:
1. Stretch DAILY
2. Eat right - no pastries!
3. HYDRATE!
4. Do my runs at a light/easy pace
5. Try not to stress
6. Go to bed on time each night

And here are some of the tasks I have to get done this week:
1. Get my name on my race shirt (scheduled for tomorrow)
2. Get a massage (scheduled for Thursday)
3. Go to the expo - pick up race packet (Friday)
4. Set out all my gear (Saturday)

Right now I am going to go to bed...right after I do a few minutes of stretching!
