Today was our last official training run for Team in Training! I have a few runs here and there during the week, but this was our last group long run. It was a simple timed run (60 minutes) where we just ran out in one direction and then back. Afterwards, a group of us went out to breakfast. It felt sort of like a "last meal". We have been doing these runs followed by breakfasts (the best part) for many months and it all is ending. Its like the last day of school when you are certain that life will never again be the same. One long run left - a REAL LONG run - but then after that, whats next? What happens to my Saturdays? What will I do without my big Saturday breakfasts? Will life be the same?
Training Log
Time:  60:00 time  Distance:5.70 miles   Pace:  10:30 min/mi
It was an easy run filled with nonsense talk. I don't think any of us wanted to discuss the fact that this was it - our final run. Supposedly we are ready for the Marathon. Supposedly the battle left is all mental. As a first-time Marathoner I can attest to the fact that its 99% mental. Now I just need to make sure my body keeps up its bargain on that 1% ... and that I dont loose my mind somewhere between now and mile 26.2.
