Another long day. Sometimes a day just flies by and you think "where did the time go?" ... but I havent had one of those in a while. Lately my days seem really long, almost endless.
I met my research partner this morning to map out our paper and some other stuff. Then I trecked down to campus to meet with an IT-guru about getting better results on document "word recognition". (While waiting for the bus this girl was taking pictures of grafitti on nearby signs and poles. I know that my life is not terribly exciting, but I do have better hobies than graffiti photography!) That was a total failed trip. I hung out in my office for a bit with another student, and then headed home. I got home and went to the gym for a bit, then ate dinner. Since then I have been working on another research project (the one I needed help with word recognition for). Since I cant get documents to read properly, I have to manually transcribe 30+ articles from print version to word version. The work is tedious, gruelling, gives me a headache and makes my contacts dry out :( (I retract my earlier comment re: grafitti photography. Grafitti photography is much more interesting than re-typing documents>
I didnt go to the Taste today, just couldnt fit it in. Its too bad I couldnt go earlier during the day when PrincessRunner mentioned it wasnt very crowded. Now that would have been sweet!
Training
No real training log today, it was a cross-train day. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical then some strength training. I generally have not kept up on the strength training, but my knees still hurt today from Saturdays run so I know I need to work on it! Hopefully the fact that I did it Sunday and Tuesday will help a bit... instead of waiting more days (um, like a week!) in between each workout. I need to be better about integrating strength training into my workouts and know it will help me in my distance runs.
