"Why Am I Gaining Weight While Training?" She Cries...As She Takes Another Lick of Her Ice Cream Cone

After two lattes and a long (and slightly unproductive meeting) I realized it was going to be difficult to motivate myself to complete today's 40 minute run. I decided to try to recruit some fellow runners to see if they also felt the same. A short email suggesting a group run this evening was met by three quick replies ... everyone was in!

So we met, and ran for our suggested time along the lake. We all discussed that, despite the humidity, we were glad we did it - because each of us admitted if we hadnt done it together ... today was going to get skipped :) On the way home I decided to reward myself for a job well done, and called Jeff to come pick me up and take me for ice cream. I had a craving for Superman ice cream - I only know of one local place to get it...and its SO GOOD. Lots of people dont know what it is ... its red, yellow and blue - and totally delicious. I cant accurately figure out our pace and distance...so there was some guessing involved :) We did about 3.7 miles and paced at about 10:40. We started off pretty slow, I am not sure if it was the humidity, or just the fact that we have never done a short run together ... etc. We did eventually pick up the pace, but I think ended up just pacing normal (at 10:30) with the "sped up" pace, thus I guessed us at 10:40.
